‘People working together in a strong community with a shared goal and common purpose can make the impossible possible’
You’re invited to take part in our online training on community cohesion. The training is aimed at all staff, paid and unpaid within voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise (VCFSE), sector settings, working to reduce conflict and increase collaboration and cohesion.
When faced with emotionally charged situations – whether these are in public at the side lines of a match, or individually when experiencing internal conflict or unrest – our minds instinctively work in ways that can either strengthen or weaken our connections with others.
The training will delve into the different factors that affect how we respond to events, including:
– The science of stress on our brain and behaviour
– Group identity and belonging
– How our thinking patterns influence perception and decision making
– How to foster and promote understanding, empathy and collective action
– Promoting cohesion with effective engagement
– Responding to higher level safeguarding and other concerns
Over the course of 3 modules, we will deepen our understanding of the ways in which we can navigate difficult situations, increase cohesion, and build stronger, more connected communities.
