History of East Riding Voluntary Action Services (ERVAS) Ltd:-
Originally there were three Council for Voluntary Services (CVS’s) operating across the East Yorkshire Area, Bridlington, Boothferry and Beverley CVS. Due to each CVS having geographical constraints infrastructure support was not provided or consistent across the whole of the East Riding for voluntary sector organisations. East Riding of Yorkshire Council started negotiations with the three CVS’s to suggest a merger. A tender was put out for an East Riding wide service, the successful bidder was North Bank Forum who developed East Riding Voluntary Action Services as a project which replaced the three CVS’s in existence from 1st April 2003.
On 02 August 2006 ERVAS registered with Companies House and as of 01 April 2007 started operating independently from North Bank Forum. ERVAS was registered as a Charity on 12 October 2007.
History of Voluntary Action North Lincolnshire (VANL):-
Voluntary Action North Lincolnshire was formed in June 1997 following the merger of Scunthorpe CVS and Glanford CVS.
Voluntary Action North Lincolnshire (VANL) was a Registered Charity and a Company Limited by Guarantee, governed by a Memorandum and Articles of Association adopted on 19th March 1997, amended on 7th October 2004 and again on 4th October 2007. The date of Incorporation was 1st April 1997. The date of Charity registration was 23rd June 1997.
History of Community VISION:-
Following some difficulties, Voluntary Action North Lincolnshire (VANL) developed a strong working relationship with East Riding Voluntary Action Services (ERVAS) Ltd and its trading subsidiary Phoenix Accountancy and Business Consultancy Limited. This included sharing a number of staff/resources and services, including having a shared CEO, the provision of payroll services, development of training provision, expansion of the FraudWatch project and development of a North Lincolnshire Volunteen Project.
On 30th November 2022 – it was agreed by the membership of both VANL and ERVAS that the two organisations should merge. Community VISION CIO was created as a result of the merger of the two organisations.
The objects of Community VISION CIO are:

- Promoting, organising and facilitating co-operation and partnership working between charitable and voluntary organisations and statutory and other relevant bodies within the area of benefit.

- Voluntary organisations are independent organisations, which are established for purposes that add value to the community as a whole, or a significant section of the community, and which are not permitted by their constitution to make a profit for private distribution.
