Community VISION is now White Ribbon Accredited, committing to working towards ending violence against women and girls.

White Ribbon Accreditation is granted to Community VISION for their commitment to ending men’s violence against women in the workplace, local community and with partners.

Press Release

Community VISION is committed to working towards ending men’s violence against women by becoming White Ribbon Accredited, aligning with White Ribbon UK, the leading charity engaging men and boys to end violence against women.

As a White Ribbon Accredited organisation, Community VISION will deliver a comprehensive multi-year plan to transform our staff culture, systems, and the wider community we operate in. This strategy will help us eliminate attitudes and behaviours that lead to violence against women. White Ribbon Accreditation is an opportunity to make our workplace a safe place for men and women, and to upskill our staff to become changemakers.

Some of the actions that will be taken include development of a Domestic Abuse Policy for employees, as well as a template policy for the voluntary and community sector (VCSE), encouraging staff and partners to become White Ribbon Ambassadors and Champions to advocate positive attitudes and behaviour and events to raise awareness across the East Riding of Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire.

“Community VISION are delighted to be taking this next step in promoting White Ribbon UK, the leading charity engaging men and boys to prevent violence against women, and we look forward to working with our partners and beneficiaries across all services, sectors and communities in East Riding and North Lincolnshire to prevent and end violence against women and girls”.  Detty Tyler, East Riding VCSE Domestic Abuse Lead Representative, Community VISION.

Anthea Sully, Chief Executive of White Ribbon UK said, “White Ribbon Accredited Organisations can make a real difference towards ending violence against women by promoting a culture of respect and equality among their staff and wider communities. By raising awareness among employees, people can learn how to become allies and call out violent and abusive behaviour when they see it.  We are delighted to welcome Community VISION as one of our White Ribbon Accredited Organisations and are looking forward to working with them towards ending violence against women once and for all”.
