The Kite Project – What is Trauma Therapy?
30 October – 13:00 – 15:30 – Face to Face Church Square House
A training workshop which will enable professionals to gain an understanding of trauma therapy.
We will describe the process and explain how trauma therapy is delivered.
We will share the criteria and trauma pathway, enabling you to understand when to
refer on to the specialist trauma service.
Objectives
• Develop a clear understanding of trauma therapy
• Gain knowledge of the variety of approaches within trauma therapy
• Understanding therapy from a families perspective
• Identify when trauma therapy is not suitable or safe
• Recognise when a referral is required for specialist provision (The Kite Project)
Who is the training for?
All professionals working with children, young people and families who have previously attended the full day ARC training
Gaming and Gambling Harms

Learning outcomes:

• The learner will understand what is meant by gaming/gambling related
harm

NEW Training: An Introduction to Artificial Intelligence
and Cyber Risks in Safeguarding Children
11 November – 10am to 11am – Face to Face at Church Square House

This session provides an introductory overview of artificial intelligence (AI), exploring its potential for both positive and harmful impact. It focuses on how AI technologies are increasingly influencing the digital landscape, particularly in ways that affect children and young people. The training will highlight key risks, including manipulation, misinformation, and exploitation, and offer practical guidance on how professionals can safeguard themselves and those they work with. It will also cover indicators to watch for in young people who may be vulnerable to online harm or radicalisation through AI-driven platforms.
Learning Objectives:
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Understand the basics of artificial intelligence and its applications in everyday life.
- Identify the benefits and risks associated with AI, especially in relation to children and young people.
- Recognise signs of vulnerability in young people who may be exposed to harmful online content or manipulation via AI tools.
- How as professionals you can protect yourselves and the young people you work with from AI-related threats.

CYP Trauma Informed Care Programme – Trauma Informed Care Training Sessions
Training Overview
This is a concise 45-minute session designed for professionals who have direct or regular contact with children and young people who may have been affected by trauma, whether this is known or not.
The objectives of the training are to:
- Define trauma and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and examine their potential impact.
- Strengthen understanding of trauma-informed practice and care, with a focus on effective responses to support children and young people.
- Highlight available sources of support for both staff and colleagues.

Shine a Light Area: Child Sexual Abuse
FREE Child Sexual Abuse and Violence Awareness Briefing
Presented by The Blue Door, this course provides an overview of the North Lincolnshire referral pathway for individuals impacted by sexual violence and sexual abuse in North Lincolnshire. It explores how professionals can navigate the local system to ensure timely and appropriate support and outlines the range of services available. Participants will gain clarity on referral procedures, key contacts, and how to sensitively guide individuals toward the help they need.

Introducing: New Local Offer Website – Supporting Children and Young People with SEND
North Lincolnshire’s new Local Offer website is now live. The website provides a refreshed and improved platform for sharing information about services and support available to children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), their families, and professionals.
The Local Offer is a vital resource that brings together details about education, health, care, and community services in one accessible place. The updated website has been designed with input from families, young people, and professionals to ensure it is user-friendly, informative, and easy to navigate.

FREE Language Matters Webinar
We’re pleased to share that The Children’s Society will be delivering a free webinar on behalf of the Humber VPP about the role of language in empowering young people
When talking about children and exploitation, language matters. It can be the difference between a child being properly safeguarded or put at further risk.
This free learning session from The Children’s Society’s Prevention Programme will highlight the importance of using appropriate language when working with children and young people. It will explore the value of avoiding victim blaming language in all forms of communications and ensure that the language we use as professionals supports, rather than harms, victims of child exploitation.
