National Youth Strategy Engagement Update
Thank you to all who have engaged in the National Youth Strategy process so far.
We have had thousands of responses to the survey, a large update of ‘Express Orders’ and have seen the fantastic sessions you have been running with young people.
We have launched a quick way for young people to engage with the National Youth Strategy with an ‘Express Orders’. The format asks ‘What one thing should the government do to improve things for young people?’. There’s no requirement to share personal details, so no parental consent for under 16s. These ‘Express Orders’ are perfect for using in environments where younger groups are together, such as in a youth club setting. Submit an Express Order here by 25th April.
We are hosting youth-led ‘Hacks’ across England in April and early May. The ‘Hacks’ will bring together young people at in-person events, to collaboratively shape solutions to the key prioritises identified in the National Youth Survey, generating fresh, practical and actionable ideas. More information about event locations and links to register can be found on the ‘Deliver You’ website.
Thank you to all who attended the webinar on 10 March to hear more about the engagement process and how to get involved. You can find the recording here.
The deadline to complete the National Youth Survey is Wednesday 16 April 2025.
The deadline for ‘Express Orders’ is Friday 25 April 2025.
The deadline for submitting feedback from engagement sessions is Friday 16 May 2025.
(Engagement and comms toolkit to support these sessions available here).
We’re pleased to announce that the Network of Regional Youth Work Units will be running a series of workshops to engage youth workers in the National Youth Strategy development, ensuring we hear the voices of those supporting young people about their hopes for the Strategy and solutions for current challenges around workforce development, funding models and sector support. For more information get in touch with your local Regional Youth Work Unit here.
We’re also still welcoming evidence and ideas for the National Youth Strategy, you can send this to youth@dcms.gov.uk.
