
Visitors are in for an egg-citing treat this Easter at Sewerby Hall and Gardens, with a fun filled line-up of family-friendly activities taking place throughout the school holidays.
From Monday 30 March to Sunday 12 April, visitors can enjoy an exciting mix of live entertainment, hands-on workshops, and interactive experiences in the setting of the historic Sewerby estate.
The Easter celebrations will feature Rusticus immersive adventures, where visitors can join in the ‘Great Flying Caper’ adventure, follow the quest in the ‘Search for the Golden Fleece’ or time travel to medieval theatre to watch the ‘Knights of the Round Table’ in a thrilling experience that brings history to life.
Animal lovers won’t want to miss the chance to meet the animals at Sewerby Zoo where they can make fruit kebabs for the animals and meet the hoof stock.
Easter Sunday (5 April), showcases an action-packed medieval jousting tournament featuring England’s top jousting team from Nottingham. Expect heart-pounding action, dazzling horsemanship, and thrilling combat in this spectacular live event.
There’s also plenty of creative fun on offer too, including face painting, magic shows and wildcats natural art workshops.
The Easter fun will reach its climax with the East Yorkshire Thoroughbred Car Club, Historic and Classical Vehicle gathering on Sunday 12 April with exhibitors travelling from across the country.
Councillor Nick Coultish, cabinet member for culture, leisure and tourism says, “Sewerby Hall, gardens and zoo are excited to welcome visitors this Easter. There’s something for everyone to enjoy, and we hope families and visitors of all ages will join us for a fantastic Easter school holiday.”
