Hull & East Yorkshire Local Nature Partnership – Photography Competition 2025

Are you passionate about nature and enjoy taking photographs? Why not take part in our local nature photography competition 2025?

The theme for this photography competition is ‘People in Nature’.

We have three categories this year for you to enter. Please remember, you can enter each category, but only once.

  • Volunteering and community efforts – examples of photographs you can take for this category include, but are not limited to: community gardening and allotment work; planting; eco-clubs; organised litter picks and clean ups; conservation volunteering, etc.
  • Health and wellbeing – examples of photographs you can take for this category include, but are not limited to: nature watching; exercising (e.g. hiking and walking); visiting nature reserves and public gardens, etc.
  • Nature-based skills – examples of photographs you can take for this category include, but are not limited to: habitat creation and restoration (e.g. building bird and bat boxes, wildlife corridors etc.); citizen science; species identification; nature-based surveying; monitoring, etc.

These examples are not an exhaustive list. If you have any other ideas that reflect the theme of ‘People in Nature’, we welcome them.

Thanks to funding from Arts Council England and grant funding for Local Nature Recovery Strategy engagement, this year’s prizes include a multi-store gift card and the opportunity to have your winning image featured in a travelling exhibition visiting libraries throughout the East Riding.

The deadline for entries is 16 November 2025.
