Regeneration funding delivers successful Ice Trail event to Bridlington

The two-day Bridlington Ice Trail brought thousands of visitors and residents to Bridlington Town Centre, through support from East Riding of Yorkshire Council.

The event, held on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 November received £23,000 in funding from the UK Shared Prosperity fund, secured by the council’s Local Growth team. It also received additional support from the Market Cooperative, Visit East Yorkshire and private sponsorship from local businesses.

Ice sculptures, interactive carving wall, Fire and Ice Shows, food stalls and a Bridlington Round table featuring Santa Claus, entertained thousands and delivered an economic boost to the town.

Councillor Anne Handley East Riding of Yorkshire Council leader said “It’s fantastic to see the Bridlington ice Trail go from strength to strength and we express our thanks for the businesses and residents who helped support the event.“

“We’re proud to provide organisational and financial support for projects across our region that support regeneration and economic opportunities for local communities.”

Visitors to the festival are being asked to complete a survey on their views on the event, with a chance to put entered into a prize draw for a family ticket to Dick Whittington at Bridlington Spa.
