Published! New Safeguarding Adults Board Strategic Plan 2026 / 2029

We are delighted to share that our new Strategic Plan 2026–2029 has been published.

The Strategic Plan sets out our shared priorities and ambitions to help protect adults at risk and strengthen safeguarding practice across North Lincolnshire. Developed in partnership with adults with lived experience, frontline staff, partners, and community organisations, the plan reinforces our commitment to keeping people safe, informed, and at the centre of everything we do.

Our priorities 2026-29

Our Strategic Plan identifies four key priorities:

Involvement & engagement

We want to empower people to share their views and experiences with us, for people to feel more confident in reporting concerns and accessing support and for the principals of Making Safeguarding Personal to continue to be central to the way we support people

Prevention & early intervention

We want to ensure people at risk of abuse and neglect are identified at the earliest stage and have access to clear and simple information which helps them to keep themselves safe. We also want to ensure that the workforce and members of the public understand the role of the Safeguarding Adults Board and our local offer, as well as ensuring that people are supported by confident care providers.

Further develop our Scrutiny & Assurance Framework

Through scrutiny and assurance we want to ensure that there is a more robust understanding of our local picture to ensure that we can strengthen multi-agency safeguarding resources and be able to better target resources. We also want to use the outcomes from people’s lived experience to develop our own learning and to inform and influence our own processes and policies.

Ensuring confident, competent safeguarding practice

We will ensure that adults are supported by a skilled proactive workforce confident in the application of safeguarding legislation. We also want to ensure that multi-agency staff work together to provide a solutions and outcomes focussed, coordinated response to safeguarding issues.
