Safeguarding Adults Board Communications

New resources published!

The SAB have developed and published 3 new guides which aim to support practitioners in their practice:

Guidance on appropriate language
This guidance is designed to support professionals on the appropriate use of language when safeguarding adults at risk of abuse and neglect. The guidance should be applied when both discussing and documenting concerns about the adults at risk.

Section 42 criteria – ‘the 3 stage test’ guidance
This guide sets out key information for staff who wish to understand more about who ‘adults with care and support needs’ are and helps staff understand when safeguarding referrals should be considered and made to the NLC Safeguarding Adults Team.

Revised financial abuse guidance
The refreshed guidance strengthens information and advice for staff around the types of financial abuse that people may experience and how it may present. The guide also shares advice on what staff can do to support people who may be experiencing financial abuse.
