Series of webinars to be held to mark Domestic Abuse Awareness Month

East Riding of Yorkshire Council will mark Domestic Abuse Awareness Month with a series of webinars about domestic violence and abuse.

The free webinars will take place during October, via Microsoft Teams, and are open to anyone living or working in the East Riding.

The session will cover a variety of topics such as coercive control, non-fatal strangulation, Clare’s Law, working with children who have witnessed domestic abuse, and legal orders to protect victims.

A variety of partners will lead the sessions, including East Riding Domestic Violence and Abuse Partnership, Humberside Police, East Riding Domestic Abuse Trust, the Blue Door, and East Riding Children, Families and Schools service.

Councillor Lyn Healing, East Riding of Yorkshire Council cabinet member for communities and public protection said “It’s vital that we work together to stamp out domestic abuse in our area and protect and support victims. I highly encourage East Riding residents to attend these sessions and increase their understanding of this vital issue.”

More information about the range of sessions available, and to reserve a place, can be found in the programme of events.
