We have been asked to help share an important petition currently open on the UK Parliament website, calling for helmets to become a legal requirement when riding bicycles or scooters on public roads.
The petition was created in memory of Riley, a young man from Beverley who sadly died following a collision in 2021. His family believe that wearing a helmet may have saved his life, and are campaigning to help prevent similar tragedies in the future.
The proposed change, referred to as “Riley’s Law”, aims to improve safety and reduce serious head injuries for cyclists and scooter users.
