Young people across the UK are being invited to apply for funding to bring creative environmental ideas to life through the Grow Wild Youth Grants programme from the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.
Grants of up to £500 are available for young people aged 14–25 who have an idea for a project that celebrates UK native plants or fungi and helps more people connect with nature.
The funding can be used for a wide range of project costs, including materials, equipment, training, resources or expert support, allowing young people to develop skills while delivering an engaging project in their community.
Projects should be creative and encourage others to get involved – for example through community events, art, growing projects, or digital storytelling about nature. Applicants will need support from a not-for-profit organisation, such as a youth group, school, charity or community organisation, to help deliver the project and manage the funding.
Successful applicants will also receive support, online sessions and opportunities to connect with other participants, helping them develop their ideas and share their work nationally.
Applications for the current round are open until 18 March 2026, with projects expected to run between May and October 2026.
