Jean Bishop, fondly known as “The Bee Lady,” was a true icon—not just in Hull, but across the nation—for her incredible fundraising efforts for Age UK Hull and East Yorkshire. Over three decades, she raised an astonishing £124,000, transforming the lives of thousands.
To honour Jean’s legacy and inspire future generations of fundraisers, they are thrilled to announce that May 13th—Jean’s birthday—will now be celebrated every year as Bee Lady Day!
Age UK are calling on schools, businesses, and individuals across Hull and East Yorkshire to take part in this special day.
