Policy Update: Amendment to Safeguarding Children Policy Template

We have made a small but important amendment to our Safeguarding Children Policy Template. This update relates to Point 5: Good Practice.

We’ve added the following paragraph:

“When working with families, we must ensure that we adopt a ‘think family’ approach, ensuring that the child/ren’s wider network is considered when gathering information and taking further action. Consideration needs to be given to all those who are central to the child’s life, including identifying any factors of safety, or concern, and ensure that these issues are documented and represented in any responses or referrals made.”
