Bridlington Beach 5km and Fun Run will return on Saturday, 5 July after four successful years.
The run will take place on Bridlington South Beach and follow a similar route along the beach and coastline, however this year, due to more favourable tide-times, the run will take place on firmer sand.
This event is an exciting annual addition, arranged by East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s Coastal Services team and the Bridlington Road Runners.
Price to enter the 5K will be £15 and all participants will receive a T shirt, water bottle and a medal.
Fancy Dress is optional for both races and there will be a trophy up for grabs for the ‘best dressed.’
The 1km Fun Run will start at 10am on the Bridlington South Beach.
The 5km race will start at 10.30am on the Bridlington South Beach.
Registration is open from now until, Wednesday, 1 July.
Competitors will run south from an area of beach near the lifeboat slipway and finish back in this area in front of Richie’s Café.
Spectators will be able to watch from the beach or from the promenade area and there are trophies up for grabs for the first place male and female in both races.
The event can accept runners entering on the day, however, there are a limited amount of race numbers available.
Councillor Nick Coultish, East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s cabinet member for culture, leisure and tourism, said: “We are thrilled to welcome back the Bridlington Beach 5km and Fun Run after a successful first four years.
“With the New Year inspiring many to begin their Couch to 5K journey, we’re calling on all new runners and resolution‑makers to come and give it a go.
‘’Whether you’re an active runner or just looking to spectate along our beautiful coastline, we encourage everyone to participate and come together in this celebration of fitness and fun.
‘’The event promotes a healthy lifestyle and is suitable for all ages and abilities.’’
