The Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) has opened a funding opportunity for organisations to deliver community-based product safety training.
💷 Funding available: Projects valued at under £10,000 (excluding VAT)
📅 Deadline: 11:59pm, Friday 30 October 2026
👥 Who can apply: Any organisation, with applications welcomed from voluntary groups, smaller charities, community groups and organisations partnering with the third sector.
The funding is designed to upskill volunteers or employees of community organisations so they can understand product safety information and share what they learn with people in their communities.
Projects should focus on training around:
👶 Product safety issues affecting children under 5 and/or
💄 Cosmetic product safety
OPSS is particularly interested in projects that train people who are already trusted within their communities and work with those who may be at greater risk of product-related harm. This could include people affected by low income, digital exclusion, additional literacy needs, disability or other circumstances.
Funding can support training activity, adapting existing product safety resources to make them more accessible, including translations, BSL or Braille, and producing materials that allow trained volunteers and staff to share safety messages with their communities. Training activity must be delivered by 3 March 2027.
