Businesses invited to exhibit at Hull and East Riding Apprenticeship Expo

The Hull and East Riding Apprenticeship Expo, to be held on Wednesday 30 September, is inviting employers and training providers to register for a free stand at the event.

The Expo brings together young people, parents and carers, employers and training providers, to learn about the apprenticeships and supported internships that are available across the area.

Employers from a wide range of sectors are invited to take part, with the event giving organisations the opportunity to speak directly with young people who are considering their next steps after education.

Employers from a range of sectors are encouraged to register for a free stand, including those from engineering, construction, health, business, hospitality, law, sport, creative industries and animal care.

The event will run in two sessions, with pre-booked school and college groups in Years 11 to 13 attending between 10am and 3pm and a public session will follow from 3.45pm to 6pm.

Home-educated young people and their parents and carers are encouraged to attend the public session, while organisers are also working with partners to support attendance by care-experienced young people and those who are not in education, employment or training.

The Expo is designed to be accessible and inclusive, with a quiet space for visitors who need It, and exhibitors encouraged to consider reasonable adjustments for young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

Supported internships will also be promoted as a pathway into employment for young people with Education, Health and Care Plans. (ECHPs)

Places are limited and organisations interested in exhibiting are encouraged to register early.

Councillor Victoria Aitken, East Riding of Yorkshire Council Cabinet Member for Children, Families and Education, said: “The Hull and East Riding Apprenticeship Expo provides an excellent opportunity for employers and training providers to meet young people and showcase the opportunities available through apprenticeships and supported internships.”

“Apprenticeships help young people develop valuable skills, gain workplace experience and progress into rewarding careers, while supporting employers to grow their workforce.

“We encourage organisations from across Hull and the East Riding to take advantage of this chance to promote the opportunities they offer, and inspire the next generation of local talent.”

The Hull and East Riding Apprenticeship Expo 2026 is organised by East Riding of Yorkshire Council in partnership with Hull City Council and Bishop Burton College.
