Early diagnosis saves lives. The virtual Cancer Champions awareness sessions help raise awareness of signs and symptoms of cancer to encourage early detection within local communities.
The 90-minute session will be available to both organisations and individuals across Hull, North Lincolnshire, North East Lincolnshire, York, East Riding of Yorkshire and North Yorkshire.
Each week, 95 families within the Humber and North Yorkshire region lose a loved one to cancer. The Cancer Champions Programme aims to save lives by promoting healthy lifestyle choices and encouraging early detection of cancer, when treatment could be simpler and more successful.
The easily accessible sessions are hosted on Microsoft Teams, which is free to use.
You’ll gain the confidence and knowledge to have life-saving conversations about cancer and everyone who completes the course will receive a copy of their virtual handbook, a certificate and a badge to show they have taken part.
N.B. The Microsoft Teams joining link for the session will be sent the day before the event.
N.B. Cancer Champion certificates, badges and handbooks will only be sent to addresses within the UK.
