Warm Homes Healthy People project – energy advice in East Riding

We are delighted to announce that our new fully funded energy advice project for East Riding – ‘Warm Homes Healthy People’ is now up and running. Thank you to all of you who have supported us so far, it has been a pleasure to meet so many new people and to have received such a positive response. We look forward to continuing to work with you!

We now have three new staff members in place – Dave, Mike and Rachael, and this very first newsletter provides more information on the services offered through this project.


Making referrals for energy advice

You are now able to refer any of your clients for advice around energy or water bills via the ‘referral form’ link below. Residents can also refer themselves. A member of our team will then get in touch to see how we can best help.

Training for frontline staff

Do you support vulnerable households?

We have scheduled in some online (free) training sessions to explain how this project can help East Riding residents. It will cover:

  • current energy prices and tips around managing bills
  • schemes to help households with energy costs/energy debts
  • energy saving tips
  • energy efficiency and dealing with damp caused by condensation
  • social tariffs for water and schemes to help with water debt
  • priority services register for vulnerable households
  • carbon monoxide awareness
  • how to make a referral to us for advice

Community outreach sessions

We will be attending events at The Hinge Centre in Bridlington and Beverley Barn over the next month, as well as linking up with the Cherry Tree Centre to trial an energy drop-in.

Please do get in touch if you have any groups who would be interested in an energy-related talk or slow cooker demo, or any events where we could host a stand or run a drop-in.
