East Riding Leisure Centres shortlisted for national excellence awards

East Riding Leisure centres have been shortlisted in two categories at the prestigious Association for Public Service Excellence (APSE) Performance Networks Awards.

East Riding Leisure Hornsea has been shortlisted for the ‘Best Performing’ award in the sports and leisure facility management, with East Riding Leisure Haltemprice also shortlisted for ‘Most Improved.’

The APSE performance network is the UK’s largest voluntary data benchmarking service for local authorities, sharing information on cost, productivity, service quality and customer satisfaction across local council frontline services.

For the awards, participants submit data which is independently validated and compared with other participants to see how effective services are, identifying those which have demonstrated best performance or biggest improvements.

Councillor Nick Coultish, East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s cabinet member for culture, leisure and tourism, said: “A huge congratulations to everyone at East Riding Leisure for playing a key role in achieving these milestones.

“The East Riding Leisure teams in Hornsea and Haltemprice have shown a true dedication to providing an exceptional service, and it is fantastic that their hard work has been recognised.”

The results of the shortlisting will be shared during the APSE Awards ceremony, taking place in Blackpool on Thursday 5 December.
