Goole residents encouraged to have their say on banners and bunting

Goole Residents are encouraged to share their views on art that has been installed across the town and meet the artist behind the works. This includes banners, bunting and window stickers that have been displayed around the town, including affixed to lampposts, Goole library and local shops.

The artwork is in addition to the Goole Town Deal Public Realm project, funded by the UK government via the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

Residents can have their say on the designs online or in-person at Goole library from Monday 17 August. They can also meet the artist, Kim Huball between 11am and 3pm on Friday 21 August, at the library.

The first 500 survey respondents also have a chance to secure an exclusive limited edition Goole tote bag.

Artist, Kim Huball designed a whole new colour palette for Goole and met with community groups and individuals to find out what was important to them about Goole.

Following feedback, she incorporated elements such as the iconic “salt & pepper” water towers, the Boat Hoist and the newly Grade II listed Clock Tower, into her designs.

Councillor Anne Handley, East Riding of Yorkshire Council Leader said: “It’s great to see Goole looking so bright and colourful in its bicentenary year, and we encourage residents to share their feedback on the designs.”

Kim Huball said; “I spent time in the town researching its rich history, taking photographs and talking to local people about the colours and places around Goole, in order to create work that best represents the town and its community.”

“I found Goole to be a fascinating and unique place and wasn’t short of inspiration for my designs. I created a colour palette and a set of illustrations to give Goole a new, contemporary sense of place.”
