The UK Government has launched a 12-week public consultation inviting people across the country to help shape the future of National Lottery Good Cause funding.
Since 1994, National Lottery players have helped raise more than £53 billion to support communities, charities, heritage, sport, arts and culture across the UK. Now, for the first time in over 20 years, the Government is reviewing how this funding is distributed and wants to hear from individuals, community groups and organisations.
The consultation is seeking views on:
- How National Lottery funding can better meet the needs of communities.
- Whether funding reaches the places that need it most.
- How the application process could be made simpler and more accessible for organisations.
This is an excellent opportunity for voluntary and community organisations, as well as local residents, to influence how future National Lottery funding supports communities across the UK.
The consultation is open until 12:00pm on 23 September 2026.
