Improving help and child protection: Online consultation from DfE

The Department for Education (DfE) is inviting children, young people, families and professionals who work with or support children to share their views on how children can be better supported and kept safe.

The consultation is seeking feedback on how services can:

  • Help families access support earlier.
  • Improve how professionals such as teachers, police officers and health professionals work together.
  • Support adults to make informed decisions that keep children safe.
  • Identify what is currently working well and where improvements may be needed.

Feedback received will help inform the DfE’s work to improve help and child protection arrangements for children and families.

📅 Closing date: 4 September 2026

Organisations and practitioners are encouraged to take part and to share the consultation with children, young people and families they work with.
