Last autumn, we conducted a four-week conversation with individuals across Humber and North Yorkshire regarding the future of the NHS. Approximately 4,000 people participated by completing surveys, joining discussion groups, commenting on social media, or attending community events. We produced a short film where members of the public and staff gave their views to launch the engagement which can be found here along with the feedback report.
A campaign to continue the conversation – The Next Chapter – is about to commence and we’re beginning in Goole given there are already conversations happening about the hospital there. We hope you can help us to recruit people from Goole who are willing to be filmed or photographed while discussing their experiences with NHS services, both positive and negative, and their hopes for healthcare provision in the future.
We aim for the campaign to be reflective of the local community, ensuring that no group feels neglected, as every voice is equally important. Therefore, we are particularly interested in representatives from the following groups:
- LGBTQ+
- Older people
- Young people
- Individuals living with a mental health condition
- Individuals with cardiovascular disorders (e.g., heart problems)
- Individuals with a learning disability
- Individuals from diverse ethnic backgrounds
If you know anyone who would be willing to feature in our campaign and share their experiences, please contact Craig Lazenby at craig.lazenby@nhs.net or call 07769 684524.
We are planning to launch the campaign in Goole on the 5th May alongside some wider local community involvement work and ideally wish to complete all content filming and preparation before then.
We would also like to share our position statement which was issued on 20 March to provide clarity on the current position regarding NHS services at Goole and District Hospital Goole and District Hospital Position Statement – Humber and North Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership
Thank you in advance for your time and support. We look forward to hearing from you.
