Young people aged 15–21 are being encouraged to apply for an exciting paid opportunity to become a Democracy Ambassador through the I Have A Voice (IHAV) Peer Education Programme.
The programme is looking for enthusiastic young people who are passionate about making a difference in their communities and helping others understand the importance of democracy, voting, and civic participation. No previous experience is required – just a desire to make a positive impact.
As a Peer Educator, participants will deliver engaging sessions in schools, youth groups, and community settings, helping other young people learn about registering to vote, voter ID, spotting misinformation, and why every vote matters. There will also be opportunities to shape resources and become part of a national movement empowering young voices.
Successful applicants will receive:
- Paid training and paid work at the Real Living Wage
- Public speaking and facilitation experience
- Leadership and civic engagement skills
- Ongoing support from IHAV staff and fellow Peer Educators
- Valuable experience to include in future job, college, university or apprenticeship applications
IHAV is particularly keen to hear from young people from under-represented backgrounds, including those from ethnically minoritised communities, low-income backgrounds, and those who have experienced barriers to political participation.
Applications are now open. To find out more and apply, visit: https://www.ihaveavoice.org.uk/election-r.
