Building Digital UK has updated its guidance on the Project Gigabit network build contract covering Lincolnshire and East Riding of Yorkshire.
The contract, awarded to broadband provider Quickline, aims to provide around 72,000 homes and businesses with access to gigabit-capable broadband, particularly in areas where commercial broadband investment has been limited.
Project Gigabit is a government programme designed to improve access to fast and reliable broadband across the UK, with a particular focus on rural and harder-to-reach communities.
Latest update
On 23 October 2026, the government updated its guidance to include links to an address checker and the Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme.
These resources can help residents and businesses find information about broadband availability and potential support for improved connectivity.
Why does this matter for local communities?
Reliable broadband is increasingly important for accessing healthcare, education, employment opportunities and essential online services.
For rural communities across East Riding and Lincolnshire, improved connectivity could help address some of the barriers associated with digital exclusion.
Community organisations, village halls and other local facilities may also benefit from improved broadband infrastructure, helping them deliver digital services and activities.
Residents and businesses are encouraged to consult the official government guidance for information about the programme and available resources.
