Residents encouraged to help shape the future of adult social care in the East Riding

Residents in the East Riding are being asked to share their views on the future of adult social care through a new consultation launching this month.

Feedback collected through the online survey will help shape upcoming adult social care strategies, ensuring services meet local needs now and in the years to come.

East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s adult social care teams support thousands of people across the area through care services, tailored support and by working closely with partners in the sector.

This ‘Have Your Say’ survey is a chance for residents to share their opinions and influence how services are designed and delivered.

The adult social care vision is to create a system that promotes independence and wellbeing, delivers the right support, at the right time, in the right place and works in partnership with individuals, families, and communities.

Councillor Jonathan Owen, cabinet member for adult social care and health at East Riding of Yorkshire Council, said: “We want to hear from as many people as possible, from those who are currently in contact with our services, as well as those who are not.

‘’Your feedback will help us to design services that truly reflect local needs and make a positive difference to people’s lives.”

How to take part:

The survey takes just 15 minutes to complete and can be found here: Adult Social Care Plan

For help filling in this questionnaire, ask a family member or someone you trust to help you answer the questions. The survey does not need to be completed all at once, it can be picked back up at a later time to be completed.

The survey aims to reflect what matters most to local people, decide how resources are allocated and strengthen community engagement to help people live longer, healthier and more independent lives.

The closing date of the survey is Saturday, 31 January 2026.

There is also the opportunity for residents to join in person consultation events which will be taking place early next year across the East Riding. These sessions will give residents the chance to share their views and ensure the council’s final adult social care plan reflects local priorities and the voices of those with lived experience.

Details on how to join the consultation events will be released at a later date.
