Sian celebrates 20 years of supporting local communities

Community VISION is celebrating a major milestone for Chief Executive Sian Broughton, who today marks 20 years of service supporting voluntary and community organisations across the region.

Sian’s 20-year milestone reflects her service across Community VISION and its predecessor organisations, East Riding Voluntary Action Services (ERVAS) and Voluntary Action North Lincolnshire (VANL).

The occasion was marked at Community VISION’s staff team away day, held today at the Petuaria Centre in Brough, where Sian was presented with an award and flowers by Judith McKelvey in recognition of her two decades of service.

Over the past 20 years, Sian has played an important role in supporting the voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise sector, developing partnerships and helping organisations and communities across the East Riding of Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire.

Sian said: “Receiving this 20-year service award is incredibly humbling. When I first stepped into the voluntary sector over two decades ago—from my early days as Accounts Administrator to Community Accountant to serving as CEO—I knew I wanted to make a difference, but I could never have predicted how fulfilling this journey would be. Leading Community VISION and ensuring our local charities have the sustainable foundation they need to thrive has been the privilege of my career. This milestone isn’t just about looking back at the years passed; it’s about celebrating the incredible community power we’ve helped build together. I am deeply grateful to the exceptional colleagues, trustees, and community leaders who inspire me daily, and I remain as motivated as ever to support the VCFSE sector and contribute to the vital system change needed”

Community VISION would like to congratulate Sian and thank her for 20 years of commitment, leadership and service to local communities.
