Tickets now on sale for East Riding Libraries’ Live ‘n Loud festival

The popular Live ‘n Loud festival for children and young people will be returning to East Riding Libraries from Saturday, 1 August until Thursday, 3 September.

There is an exciting programme of events planned for this year’s celebration, including the new STREAMFest, a day of activities ranging from K’NEX and coding with EaRL Robots, and much more. Lab Rascals Scientists will also be attending with dry ice volcano experiments.

There will be a number of workshops, puppet shows, author visits and other activities to entertain the whole family throughout Live ‘n Loud. Returning favourites include Puppets, Plays & Story Days, with ‘The Three Little Fish and the Big Bad Shark’, and ‘Koalas in Capes’ with Terrie Chilvers.

Also new for this year are the family-friendly ‘The Quest for Planet P’ with Knotted Hawk Theatre and Mark Thompson’s ‘Spectacular Science Show’.

A selection of children’s authors will also be visiting the libraries, including Clare Pollard and Harriet Howe. They will be talking about their newest book releases and signing copies of their books in the library.

Events such as ‘The Big Colour Bash: Digital Graffiti Party’ with The Fun Experts and ‘Bollywood Blast Off!’ with Salma Zaman will also be running throughout the festival.

Councillor Nick Coultish, cabinet member for culture, leisure and tourism at East Riding of Yorkshire Council said: “Live ‘n Loud is a shining example of how our libraries are bringing exciting and vibrant events to community spaces.

‘’This festival not only encourages creativity and learning but also brings families together in a fun and inclusive environment. We’re proud to support such a dynamic and affordable programme that showcases some of the best of what the East Riding has to offer.”

Kimberley Harston, librarian and organiser of Live ‘n Loud in Libraries, said: “After the success of Live ‘n Loud over the years, we can’t wait to be bringing it back this summer!

“We’re so excited to bring so many events to the residents of the East Riding. Live ‘n Loud in Libraries is all about coming together to make noise, have fun and enjoy everything our libraries have to offer.”

Funded through Arts Council England, Live ‘n Loud aims to widen the opportunity for people to benefit from local arts and culture opportunities.
